Sunday Bite

Was able to do a little fishing today and had good results. Between myself and one other we caught and released 6 trout and 1 red. Largest trout was 15in. All caught on Zman bad shad with 1/4oz red jig head.

Thanks to Mt. P Charleston Angler for recommending the right artificials. Water still cold!

Thanks for the post! Water temps should start moving up next week!

Being on the water is a blessing, catching fish is a bonus!
Matthew 4:19

Fished Saturday and Sunday and found water both days around 56 degrees. The red fish we caught seem to have a little more spunk in the fight. Caught a total of 10 fish 8 being slot fish and one tagged red.

I also found a few fish on Sunday during the afternoon low tide. Water temps on the Wando ranged from 48 to 52 on the flats. Was able to find some mullet for bait (big ones) and got 3 reds into the boat and saw a bunch more on some regular flats between the 526 and 41 bridges. Two fish on the bottom near a dock and one on a flat. I was checked by DNR while fishing a dock for the first time in a couple of years. Accidentally handed him my wife’s license (“no sir, my name is not Jennifer”) and caught a fish while he was pulled up alongside!

Anhinga were you fishing in the Ashley by chance? We went out yesterday, fished a few MMs on the bottom up a creek and fished a few in the harbor as well. Water temp was ranging from 50 to 54 where we were. Didn’t fish very hard, one big bite that we missed. Top notch day and the boat started without a hitch, so no complaints here. Saw a ton of porpoises all over the river, didn’t see any corralling schools.

Everyone we saw out there seemed to have a little bigger smile than the last couple months. Welcome SPRING!

btshipp, I was fishing the Wando. Went out again last night for a quick trip and managed to land a nice red from a school I’ve been chasing around all winter by the well known white pole. Water temps were up to 60 on the flats and the fish were a little more active.

Notice the incorrect way to use a TroutEye jig!

Love the later sunset!

Pretty smooth on the way in.

Nice reports guys!
