Sunday Evening 6-21-2015 - HELP. Boat Trailer

Just got word that a friend dropped a hub off his 17 foot boat trailer - he’s stranded at Wappoo Cut. Anybody got a trailer to loan or rent until he can repair his?

He’s stuck at Wappoo at the moment…

Call Kevin Blair at 843-696-4231 or me at 843-729-5731.

He may have to call a tow truck and get it hauled to his house…his last option.

OK…just got off the phone, he’s still stranded, but tow truck on the way for the trailer at least. Boat stuck in the water.

From his facebook page yesterday:

quote:
I was fishing the Jetties with a customer at Morris Island today. The boat next to us caught a red. The guy sat on the rail to take a picture with his fish and he went over the side. The Captain was somehow able to grab him before he was swept into the maelstrom and over the rocks. We watched for a few minutes but the Captain could not get the guy back into the boat (250 lb male about 70 yrs old) with all the current. I had to pull anchor and sweep around, luckily my customer (a 48 year old woman on board by herself) had enough guts to jump from my boat to the other boat and help get the guy back on board. This could have gone very badly. Makes you think about who you are on board with and can you help each other out if the sh%# hits the fan. Every time I had been on board a vessel and something dangerous happened it was always when things were normal one second, life threatening the next. I don't how much I could have helped or what I would have done if my client wasn't willing to make that jump to the other boat. Be careful out there.

and the captain he helped:

quote:
Yes that captain was me. I want to thank you and your client Nicole for helping save Calvin's life. It was a very dangerous situation and I could not have gotten him back in boat without Nicole's super human strength! I shouldn't have had him in those conditions without anyone else on boat. Thank you Lord above for not letting me loose my grip and for a boat near by

I’ll be in town tomorrow with an empty single axle trailer. Guessing he may be fixed by tomorrow but if not I can loan mine until whenever. I’m in dry stack. It ain’t 100% but it rolls.

He’s on a charter since 6am, I’m going over in a few hours to see if we can fix it. If we can’t and we have to get it to a shop, he may need to accept your offer.
