Ive been hard at work at the new property for weeks, so me and buddy decided to take a little boat ride sunday evening for some water therapy. after a few beers we decided to toss out a couple u-rigs for the heck of it. 10 minutes later we were hooked into some pretty fish. first hit was a tiny 16" striper. shortly after the baby, its mother hit the other rod. she was a FAT 25" fish, i wish i had my scale on the boat. After that we hit a few more between 18" and 23". It was getting late so we packed up and headed for the ramp. both rigs were down around 15ft deep. fishing a 30-50ft ledge. im not sure of the water temp because my new transducer isnt reading temp right, but the water felt awfully cold. they were all caught down the lake near spence. the fish seemed real hungry. over half the fish swallowed the whole swim bait, but all were release happy and healthy. i had a combination of chartreuse grub tail, blue swim tail, and white swim tail. they seemed to hit all colors and combos so they werent real picky. trolling around 3.5mpg.
You da man for releasing them. Nice fish!
