Donnie asked a few days ago if I minded him taking our friend Neil out fishing today.( Neil lost his wife Darlene to cancer a few months back and hasnt fished in a good while). “sure I say”…and so they plan to leave at 0600 this morning. lol I say…we’ll see about that…but 0515 donnies rolling out of bed, a little bleary eyed but looking forward to the day. I had already fixed lunch for them and started loading the boat…but he finished that up too. woohoo…so I crawl back into bed thinking…ok…going to make the best of this and sleep in… 10 minutes later I hear a tap at our bedroom door…and its neil saying…“penn…penn…you ve got to come with us…cause if you dont we wont catch anything, i just know we wont:smiley:…I hear donnie laughing in the hall too and tell them to get going and leave me alone:smiley: 0730 phone rings…its neil…” penn…we aint catching nothing"…lol…so I asked where they are and tell him to remind donnie its still wrong tide for there…and where to go…lol…dial a fish resource?
…haha…so off they go…i cant stand it and call 40 minutes later and they have caught 5 reds…and missed a few more…then they went to try their luck at the sheep head…and caught these three and a few smaller ones…now before anyone goes yelling…shoulda turned them loose…remember…Neil hasnt been fishing in a couple years…and he and his two girls are going to grill them up along with some shrimp I gave him… Anyhow…they had a great time. rolled in here about 2pm still laughing about things that had happened to them todaylike casting for bait. Neil said they stunk at casting since donnie took one of my 9 foot nets with them and neither had thrown in a while…Guess donnies just a little spoiled…haha…but then again…someones got to be the driver too. Great day on the water for two friends of 2o years. I told Neil that I bet Darlene and Stan were watching from above and laughing at them too.
