Took my bro-in-law out Sunday. Hooked up on his first SC red drum, 30 inches. Caught on mud minnow. Caught 1 trout on a Zman fried chicken w/ red trout eye and another trout on a live shrimp under a popping cork. Trout were about the same size. Lots of action on the Zman, but only 1 commitment.
If you’re going to catch your first red, that’s a good one to start with. That’s a good spot you’re in too.
Very nice! How was the water clarity that far up?

Merky. We were in 3 feet of water, couldn’t see the bottom.

Good Sunday on the STONO! Lots of keeper trout. Reds are huge. They patrol the grass almost to the bank in shallow water. Best to sight fish.
