Had probably my best day this year Sunday afternoon. Put in at DNR with two buddies and paddled up the ashley toward the connector. Caught some nice trout on the incoming, but slammed it once the tide turned. Once we found ‘the spot’ it was on. Caught 3 20+ inch reds and 6 monster (18+) trout in about 45 minutes. Consistent bites, strong fish. Most all were caught on dark red/gold swba grubs. But the fish were biting everything. Thanks to Les McKewen (sp.?) for the grubs. Heard they caught over 100 trout sunday.
What about this weather lately? saturday and sunday could not have been better. Bite was pretty slow in the stono on saturday, because of all the rain I’m assuming. Glad we fished the harbor sunday. Tides have been unusually high considernig the current phases. I’m going back out today after work…see you out there.
