sunday jetties

Anyone know about the boat hull floating into the jetties today? I was anchored off the grillage between Sullivans and North Jetty and saw a boat hull float past and then Charleston Fire and Police Department arrive on the scene. Hope everyone was ok, the hull looked pretty rough.

Saw it at the sullivans boat landing. Some deck boat was towing it. Looked pretty beat up! I asked them, said it hit the jetties and everybody was ok. Didn’t get any other details.

OUCH! AT least no one was injured.

me too. I have only been with my dad in his boat but i really want to go out there and fish in my boat. Since i got a boat that is reliable enough to go there, I have not been brave enough to do it.

I had wanted to hit the jetties myself but hearing all the horror stories had been hesitant to do so. Finally last Summer, it was a beautiful day and we ventured out. We found a spot inside the jetties and dropped anchor. We had a great time and have done it several times since. I guess all that structure is such a haven for everything. We caught whiting, BSB (too small) stingrays and sharks. If you want to take the kids some where that they will catch stuff (and not care what), the jetties is the place. Just be careful and watch for the big ships rolling in. I usually look to see if there are at least a half dozen boats out there. I figure one or two boats may be dummies or crazy people. A half dozen or more and I am counting on someone having some sense and knowing it is safe to be out there.
