Late start Sunday, Cked buoy looked ok so called buddy and about 7:00am leaving my place in Bonneau. Ocean sloppy, with the late start plus water conditions, we stayed around 60-80’ trolled for Kings and quickly had five and several other hits plus a large cuda. Started bottom fishing and loaded up on some really nice BSB, also couple of vemillions,3 big rudderfish(see cooking),one great ARS() and one small grouper. Great ride in at about 28-30mph. We did put curtains up due to the SW spray. Short trip but still great time!!!
Nice haul!
How far out did you go?
about 20-25 miles 70-85ft.

Curious, you guys anchoring when you do best on the bottom fish? Nice haul.
I seldom do but I can do much better anchored. I hate pulling in that thing. If you anchor deep, use an anchor ball. It helps alot.

About 95% of the time we drift, just have to figure the direction and sometime bump the motor in and out to slow drift. Do like to ancor when fishing for the spades.
