Got out around 5:30 for the first trip in my boat since august. She ran, but ran pretty rough. Timing is off. Fished around spence and the towers using live bait. Three of us caught 15 with 3 keepers. Seemed like they had a hard time swimming off. Had to revive them for a while to get them to swim off. Saw quite a few floater as well. I wonder if the gill magots had anything to do with it. Water was around 75 and I have never had trouble with healthy release at that temp before.
Went out on Monday (stupid, I know) just to watch ignorance on/in the water. Did get to see a fight at the boatramp-alcohol was a factor I do believe. Anyway, large drunken black guy will pick on little drunken white guy and proceed to pick white boys boat trailer up from off the top of his and proceed to put said drunken white boy into back of pickup for a little “nap”. Did see a few scattered floaters around and tried to look for the gill maggots-try and explain gill maggots to your wife-wtf look all over her face…Saw several people trying to fish but saw none boated (left about 8pm) As 23 would say- I was a little richer for the experience
