Sunday Report

Saw the wind forecast and went to get bait before the shops closed. I had to go to a party and didn’t get on the water until 8:00. Odd night mixed with good and bad.

Good:
Caught fish from start to finish. Fished out in the main channel between spence and Dam. Only small fish right at the towers. Probably caught 20 fish including 5 keepers. I only kept two. One fish at 26", two at 24" and three at 22". My first limit in years.

Bad:
My wires for my trailer lights were pulled out of the trailer. Lost a wheel on the trailer. The bearing housing just ripped right off. Decided to go ahead and launch with the three good wheels. Got back to the launch and the motor would not trim up. After trying to figure out what to do for an hour a bass fisherman came in and told me to swap the trim solenoid. It was after 3:45 AM by the time I got home.

Forgot to add that instead of climbing down the bow onto the tongue to get the boat out I decided to jump over to the aluminum dock at Koon. Well wet feet on the aluminum dock is not a good idea. I ended up taking a swim between the boat and dock. That was after doing a split, bashing my knee off the dock and jamming my finger on the trailer. But I guess that’s the price for having my best fishing day since the last fish kill.

good job tom; and you guys thought that i was the clumsy one. hope you get your wheel fixed. napa has the bearings you need or if not take them over to wesco in cayce. they can hook you up.

I dont know what to say—congrats on the day or sorry about the trailer and fall? Maybe both?
