I’m a little late w/ my report from Sunday. Had troubles getting the picture off of my phone.
Launched at Edgar Glenn ramp / Lemon Island at about 11:45 a couple hours before low tide. Water temps were about 55 ~ 57 and visibility most places was about 2 feet. Found nothing at some of the creeks draining just down from the boat launch so went to Mackay Creek and tried a couple spots including one flat but that was just after the tide started back in so it was a no go. Also, the wind was blowing me to the shallows to where I nearly grounded.
Tried the Chechessee as I worked back inshore again w/ no luck.
Finally went to the Rose Island creek hole and found two boats there. One was pulling in trout readily on live shrimp.
I finally put a fish in the boat. A really nice flounder measured at 16+ inches. Released for another day.
Another great day to be on the water and then enjoyed the long ride back to Aiken dodging many deer after dark.
It appears that the Bolan Hall Seafood/Bait store has closed permanently. Anyone know a live bait store near the Lemon Island ramp?
Also, fyi… they’re replacing a bridge on 462 just inshore from the Bolan Hall road. There’s a detour that is not too bad. Takes about 5 minutes from the time you leave 462 until you return. Looks like it will be a while. They’re just starting to drive pilings.
