Replaced some outboard parts and decided to go for a test boat ride Sunday. Put in at the dam around 10:30 and ran up Bear and couldnt get anything going. Moved farther up lake near Dreher Island and got a couple knock downs but nothing landed. Final move was up to a cove near the elbow where we finally found them. Lost a few fish due to short strikes but put 4 in the boat before we ran out of time, including a nice 10 lber. All but 1 fish hit herring/small shad on planners in < 30 ft. One note: we marked some nice bait balls and a few fish in 70-80 FOW right off the main channel near Dreher but didnt investigate. Covered a lot of water but glad we did, turned into a nice day in the afternoon.

Sounds like a pretty good day! Hope that wind wasn’t blowing like it was Saturday…

Pretty brisk out there blowing 15+ in the morning from the north and had to get creative crossing open water in order stay dry. But it died down in the afternoon, ran back at 40mph.

Good deal. Good report and glad that you got on them.
