sunday, Stono and Wadmallaw

My wife, her friend and I spent the day running from spot to spot trying to catch the big fish of the day for the Stono River Fishing Club Tournament. Caught a few over the slot redfish, no good for the weigh-in. Caught a couple of blacktip sharks and stingrays, not part of the tournament. Finally caught a 17in flounder in Wadmallaw sound. But…not big enough for the weigh-in…finished third in the flounder category! Reds caught on minnows or cut mullet on the bottom. Flounder was caught on a paddle tail grub. Still a great day catching!!

Good report. I fished until 11:30. 2 reds at 20 and 23.001" and a 17" trout. A few missed hookup as well. Saw lots of fish, but with the hot weather they are not very willing to bite.
