Sunday Trout @ Edisto

Six of us left Edisto Marina at 8 AM Sunday morning. Ron Davis (Raddaddy who is as good a fisherman as I have ever fished with), Pat McWhirter and Tommy Ballenger, your go to injury attorneys, Tommy’s two sons, Clay and Cold and myself (first time I’ve trout fished since my surgery in Feb). We had about 8 inches of visibility, so at Ron’s suggestion, we caught about 200 shrimp. We caught a couple of trout on the shrimp until the water cleared somewhat (about 14 inches) about three hours into the incoming tide. We ended up with 17 keeper trout out of about 30 total on the shrimp under floats and on TroutTricks. Most of the fish were caught on the South Edisto River.
Wednesday we’re going jackfishing on the Edisto around Branchville and I’ll post a report. It sure is great having rehabed enough to fish, somewhat.

Nice job Bob…I finally got to try the TT’s and caught several keeper trout last week in St Helena Sound. Great bait if you stay away from the shells!

cool, bob!

today in charleston harbor i caught 15 trout on shrimp under a popping cork- 6 of them over 16" and one at 20". tried a few FMs, but they didn’t want them nearly as much as the shrimp. same deal, when viz was good, the bite was great. lucked into a couple redfish and a flounder at the same time.

good luck with the jackfish!
