Headed out Sunday after lunch for a little fishing. Launched into the Wando into a constant stream of boat wakes running about a foot. I headed up to check out a couple of interesting creeks and the crazies in powerboats made it an interesting paddle.

to the guy in the dark blue 28 foot Scout pulling 2 kids on tubes. IT IS NOT NECCESSARY to pass withing 30 feet of a kayak to see how I’m doing. This guy threw a nice series of 3 footers at me TWICE!!! When he came by the second time I presented him with a nice lowcountry wave… sorry but my hand was cramping and I could only hold up 1 finger:imp:

To teh kids on t he jet skis that thought it was fun to try to swamp me. Guys it’s a self draining cockpit sit on top kayak, so yes you can get me wet, but no I won’t sink.

To the guy in the inboard speed boat… Do you know what NO WAKE means??? It does not mean run up a creek at 1/4 throttle with your bow 3 feet out of the water and waving to me with your beer. Tell your wife or girlfriend thanks for showing me her hooters tho.
She’s a keeper
Now for the fishing. I got to the creek a little later than I had planned and the tide was quite a bit lower than I expected. I threw the cast net a few times and got some shrimp. mud minnows, and finger mullet.
Started workingthe structure and the blues were thick in the creek. Mostly small guys 8-10 inches. Highlight of the afternoon was a nice fat trout at 22 inches, relased to fight another day.
I got checked by the man today. He looked over the boat, inspected my pfd, made sure I had my whistle and looked in the hatches to make sure I wasn’t hiding any illegal fish. He told me he had already handed out a couple of tickets for over the slot reds. Good job Mr DNR…keep up the good work.
The paddle back to the landing was less eventful than the outbound leg. I guess everyone had to pack it in before 5.
So much water, So little time
