Going against all i have ever said and going to fish this weekend. Will be out there crack of dawn till probably 1ish or 2ish. anyone else going. gonna hit the towers first then probably work my way up the channel and then back down. Jim, gonna really put some time in trying to bring them up around noon or so; will let you know how that goes.
I’ve got some work in Forest City Sunday morning and clearing out a storage unit tomorrow and installing an HDS unit in a customer’s boat. Might try one morning next week, I’ll let you know. Good luck.
Fishin was nice in the morning! had four keepers by 830. (started at 630) lost three more fish that i would have swore were keepers but o well. caught probably 10-15 shorts none shorter than 19. Had a couple that went right at 21 with a pinched tail but didn’t want to push it. Got checked by the man about 1100 at the towers.
Ok people off topic here but if you bow fish and don’t want to do anything with your kills please don’t dump it in the grass at the boat landing at the dam. it stinks and is a very bad example to anyone that sees it. One person does it and another sees it now you got two people doing it. There was something like 5 or 6 gar and a huge carp. throw it in the ditch by YOUR house where YOU can smell it.
Second. I know it was not anyone on here but i know there are alot of readers of this site that are not members or just never post sooooo. The minimum length of a striper is 21"</font id=“size3”>. So don’t catch a fish, ignore me asking you how big it was while i hear you mumbling about it then say its 23" and expect people to believe it as you throw it in the fish box. I have caught enought stripers as well as most of you have that you can look at a fish and guess the lenght with in an inch. Needless to say i warned them that DNR was out in full force and again more mumbling. Seen DNR heading there way when i was going across the dam. I take the time to measure my fish as well as everyone of you that i have fished with does. I obey the rules so if your reading this and like to keep short fish DNR is not playing around. The officer who checked me wrote a ticket yesterday for 900 something and took the guys stuff; and last weekend checked another boat and the guy said they had no fish (there are people out there watching at all times) operation game thief was called (and this was the second time this boat has been called in) so DNR asked for him to open all compartments.
Glad the guy got the book thrown at him. Too many folks are keeping too many short fish.
My favorite is “Didn’t know the lake had Hybrids” and the guys had a cooler full of shorties.
Nice post. Bait?

All good point chip. That top fish looks a little short. According to the 2" ribs on that decking she is about 19.5". Just kidding, nice catch, I saw you out there when I was coming back from church
