Sunday

I got out on the water early Sunday for some peace and quiet, only to be hit with wind and cool temps. The wind was pretty stiff, but I managed a good morning on the water. My usual honey hole has changed, so I figured I’d try one of the old fall hotspots. I ended up catching 5 lower slot reds as fast as I could catch them, then they turned off. Went back to another spot on the mud flat and caught 2 more reds and 4 flounder, but only 2 keepers. I did run to the jetties and fought the wind to try and snag a bull or 2, but the wind was too much for me out there. Kept 1 16" red, a 15" and 16" flounder. No trouts for me today, but they will come in soon for us. Nothing like some good ol fried flound, redfish, sweet taters and my family with me for dinner. The boys destroyed that 16" flounder. I cooked the 15" whole, since I finally got a pan big enough to do so, and it was oh so good! Even the knocked up wife was earing out some fried fish. Hope I can get back at it soon. I also hope Sandy stays away from us. The fishing is getting good, so you’d better get out there. No spots were caught by the folks I talked to today, though.

good job man, i didnt see ya out there i dont think

Bottomz up

Well, I hid for most of the day up in the backwaters. I did slip out to the jetties around 2 to try for a bull, but I didn’t go to the menhaden hole, so I only had some bigger mullet and they didn’t like them, I guess.
