Sunday's South BB Report

Took my teenage daughter and her boyfriend shrimping yesterday in the S end of BB. Put in at Garriss landing around 10 am to catch the falling tide. Got on a nice slope into the channel out of Anderson creek and set the poles. Short story, about 6 passes alter ZERO shrimp. A few croakers and such and we did bring up the bait balls several times. But not a single shrimp. We moved and set up 5 poles close to shore hoping to catch some coming out of the grass, again ZERO. There were probably 5 boats with poles set up and at least 10 deep hole shrimping. That should tell you a lot.

The good news is those teenagers were throwing some pancakes! I was impressed, especially my daughter, one pancake after another. I think she’s my go-to shrimping partner from now on. We had fun, but I sure wish they would have been rewarded w/ even a 1/4 cooler. I told them about the old days when BB was a parking lot and everybody still caught shrimp. I took last year off from shrimping because the reports were so bad, might take the rest of this year off too.

you weren’t the only one who got blanked yesterday in South Bulls Bay…

Same here. I remember a few years back heading across the flat at mid-tide and seeing shrimp jumping out of the water all around the boat!
