Sunrise on Sunday...

Got delayed on the way to the sunrise spot by a school of pesky reds that just begged to be caught…I hooked up on my first two casts. Onward to topwater Nirvana.

Jay is experiecned in freshwater topwater and hooked up his first topwater red in quick order…Troy got his first topwater red also. They both got 3 on topwater, with Jay’s 31 inch fish being the largest.

Proceeded to put over 30 in the boat on Gulps, finger mullet and mud minnows. Fine day on the water…It always baffles me that there were no boats until at least 9am and then just a few.

I envy you guys that live down there. Trying to get my family on the road before 7:00 is tough. I am usually on the water by 9:30 but always feel like I am missing something. May just have to leave them at home one morning and catch the sunrise.

Sounds like you had a great day.

And therein lies the answer as to why there were no/are no boats on the water…This time of year, until it turns cold, is absolutely stunning at sunrise…not to mention the fishing is usually fantasitic also.
