Thought I would post this and pass it along to some of you who enjoy a quiet time fishing from shore. A LOT of immprovements have been made on the park down by James Island Yacht club…it has another name but we have always called it Sunrise Park…the old name. Its off of fort johnson road…down towards the DNR offices. You take a left on any of the last few roads …but we usually take wildwood…go to the end…take a left again…its open from dawn to dusk…gate closes automatically at dusk…remember that part. Heres a few pics…really pretty place…we take Roo there to play and have fished it and caught a few fish.
pond dock on one side…
the main dock and floating dock
has a covered picnic area…several little walk-downs /steps to the little beaches…which by the way I have found a few small shark teeth on… and a few benchs and fountains. Dog friendly…poop bags for those who are kind enough to do the right thing and pick up after them.
Thanks …and thanks bad habit…I knew it was named after the family who donated it…just couldn’t remember their name…not nice huh?…but I do appreciate them giving such a pretty place for all to enjoy.

you are welcome! some may say…oh noooo…dont tell anyone…but personally…why not share a nice place where folks can go spend some quality time…and maybe do a little fishing too…esp. if they have small children they want to take…and its free!
good crabbing from it…and fiddlers to be caught too…one word of warning…the first little steps to the beach on the right has a area that when tide goes out is a bit smelly at times not pluff mudd smelly…but stinky smelly for some reason…we live not to far away too and love going down there…see more and more picnic-ers and it seems to always be clean . I usually leave a few trash bags hanging on the cans provided to hopefully encourage people to pick up what they bring in case can is full…hope it works.
