We don’t live in Venice. If you want to fish in Charleston year round, you need an enclosed Salon. I hope that Freeman sells a thousand boats, but all I am saying is that the price is ridiculous given the value and performance. What so you can go 10 knots faster and get wet as **** and save $500 in fuel to take some folks to the ledge in nasty weather??? Who gives a flyin f? I could do the same thing in a Cigarrette

Wow…
Enclosed salon for our harsh winter months… Seems like most of the SC fleet fishes late March to August… been fishing quite a bit in the winter and not seen many boats out there… They must be WAY offshore with their heaters and such… not to mention the 26 plus foot offshore boats out number sporties 10 to 1 if not more in the spring and summer months…
price is ridiculous… have you checked the price of a equivalent contender/yellowfin/seavee/invincible/etc? Call Paul Spencer and ask him to quote you a brand new sporty that you are so excited about
10 knots faster?? Not many SC sporites run 50-10= 40 knots… most I have been on are 20 to 28. So lets say roughly twice as fast
wet as **** - you have obviously never ridden in a Freeman. Chalk that up to you don’t know what you are talking about
$500 in fuel savings… boat cruses at 1.1mpg what is your average SC sporty? 0.3 0.5 maybe? Not to mention diesel costs more than gas…
bring your cigarette, it will be the first one I have ever seen troll the ledge. The bay boats and deckboats would earn more respect but come on bro!
In all seriousness glad to have a home grown boat builder that builds a hardcore fishing machine. Billy has turned a LOT of heads with his boats and changed a LOT of peoples minds about center consoles.
I guess Haters gonna hat
Somebody needs to take a magic carpet ride!
So to answer my question it’s comparable to say a Yellowfin or Everglades…? Again…if I had the funds I would have one of those and a sporty. Sporty more for a trip to the Abacos or Exuma…Freeman for those aggravating chop days here when you can get to the ledge in 1.5 hrs. Fishin…If we do it I may be in touch.

Yes price wise it is comparable and probably cheaper than both the YF and everglades with similar equipment. It will outperform them both as well. If you want to take a ride shoot me a PM. I know a fella.
And for the record if I had the funds I would have both as well! 70ish Spencer with a 37 Freeman in tow… Lots of fish would die, lots of beer would be consumed, lots of fun by all! Epic posts on cf.com!
Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
Not a hater just not paying that kind of money for any of those boats you mentioned

That’s cool…but if you want a sporty in the 37-ish range(and you may as well say 40 since the Freeman 37 has more fishing space than most 40’s), you’re talking about anywhere from $600K-$1M new-in-box.
Realistically, the Freeman 37 could probably be had rigged w/trip 300 HP, all electronics, and a trailer for somewhere in the mid-300’s.
“Never argue with an idiot…he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.”
I know how much boats cost thanks for your insight though
