Does anyone know good bait to use surf fishing out at seabrook. I’ve been using blue crab and I’ve caught one nice bonnet head but nothing else.
Use fish. Mullet, bluefish, whiting, ladyfish, bonita, spanish mackerel, etc. To my knowledge bonnetheads are the only shark that eats crab.

Have you ever snorkeled off the beach in this area? You can’t see 6 inches in front of your face. You must present scent, and or motion to your bait selection. Oily fish like mullet, bluefish, and menhaden all produce a scent trail in the water column. A live mullet, bluefish or menhaden produce scent and motion that allow predator fish to locate your bait. Cut fresh bait adds blood to the scent map that sharks are prehistorically designed to follow. I would also try some night fishing for sharks. It’s a prime time for predator fish, and you won’t be “that guy” who shark fishes near swimmers and bathers and surfers when people populate the local beaches during the day.
