Newbie to Charleston. Been fishing some places mentioned on the site; Folly Pier, Mt. Pleasant, Breach Inlet, ect, with some luck. Wanted to know a good are to surf fish. What time of day/tide to go and bait to use.
Surf/Pier Forum and Search Functions have a lot of info but:
Try any beach at Incoming High and Outgoing, best is Incoming-2 hours before. Pitt Street bridge is good too. Folly or Mt P Piers are fun and loaded with fish, but they cost $$$. Look for breaks in the waves, and fish the areas between the Sandbars. Fish Finder Rigs and Double Drop rigs will work fine. Shrimp and Cut Mullet or crabs will work best. You can catch whiting, small blues, reds, trout, flounder, sharks. Good Luck.
