surf flys

what kind of flies are yall in the surf. i have gone a couple of day in a row and i havent got nothin looking for some new flies

I was throwing a small olive and white clouser the bluefish LOVED… Try a bearded clam spoon, some of the little sand fleas or a shrimp or shrimpy lookin critter and you should at least get bit. Fish low tide and look for the fish parallel to the beach just behind where the waves crash… it’s gonna get better real quick when the mullet start making their run south… I have already seen finger mullet in the surf so it can’t be too long…

i tried a sand flea tonight and i didnt even get a bite maybe i was stripping it wwrong i dont know. i also grabbed a white gurgler and a new shrimp pattern but still got nothing

I went tonight as well. Fished a bait fish fly I have and caught a dang lizard fish and had something hit it pretty good but didn’t catch the hook. I saw him but couldn’t make out the type of fish. Stripping it pretty fast… Visibility was amazing. Could see down to around 4ft.
