Not sure if this belongs here, but anyone who’s done much boating in the ocean could appreciate this trip. In the fifth photo down, note the angle of the boat. I’d rather stand on the beach and watch.
I was a FF in OH for 7 years, back country skied in MT and been whitewater rafting. With all this, I have done some fun (stupid) and crazy (dangerous) stuff, but at no point do I think that would be a fun ride. At 32, I am still a pup, but no way could I get the ballz up to do that whether for fun or pay. Kudos to the men and women who try to save our butts when it is really snotty out there.
Those appear to be guys standing in the tower. I wonder if they are strapped in…or strapped together…when they encounter conditions like that. They appear to be still standing when the boat rights itself.
That is crazy, I have been on some stupid crazy flight in the AF but nothing that nuts. We have never tried to roll big planes on purpose to see if they will recover. props to them i bet someone had to clean there pant.

MISTAKES
It could be that the purpose of your life is to only serve as a warning to others.

Yep…I thought of that day when I saw these pix. I wonder if that 31 Contender would have righted itself as this boat did. Something tells me that we almost got REAL wet.
a friend of mine was flying over that place (devoix bank (sp)) in a private plane a month or so ago and said the swells were so big the pilot actually turned around to see it again. he said it looked like hawaii.
I had a friend that did that a few years ago. He said from height of eye on the flying bridge to the waterline was 15ft…that wave looks close to double that. I guess the best thing to do in that situation would be just punch the throttles and cross your fingers
