Friend told me he could not afford a colonoscopy right now.40 year old men and women getting colon cancer.Like me I had no clue.My last test was good with one polyp removed.Last one was 6 years ago.Started to bleed pretty bad and My Dr sent me in right away for the colonoscopy.Found a 6mm mass that was cancer.Lucky me i started to bleed. It was early and I expect no problems.Surgery scared me I have to be honest about that. The heart problem will be addressed asap.May need a pacemaker??.Roper did a great job and all the staff down to the cleaning lady were just so caring.Sorry Roper the food sucked. The gas guys that put me under are on CF.C.They had me fish talking all the way to the OR.One said he would keep me safe.He did thanks guys i owe you one of my best walking spots.I had to pass gas or have a bowl movement.I asked Amy to get me a can of compressed fart. The cath in my joy stick was a pain felt like i had to pee all the time.I made myself get up and walk and walked and talked my self home Fri morning.Surg Wed at 3pm and home Fri at 9am.Has to be a record for a 77 year old with a can of fart.Got the shivers real bad twice yesterday but hot choc fixed that up.Good night last night.Today i will be up and moving as much as possible. This will be the last report on my surg.I am wearing depends right now with no accidents.Take care of yourself guys and gals.Being told you have cancer is a *****.Do not let it happen to you.Get all the tests necessary to catch that curse in time.Life is short and sweet.I am lucky and i will for a few more years get to enjoy the sea. Mike I made it just like you.
Stono I’m glad you’re on the mend.
A good anesthesiologist and a good bartender have a lot in common.
I’m happy to hear you’re doing so well.

I had a similar experience, except I neglected the first colonoscopy until I started bleeding. God must look out for fools, because mine was stage 1, and done. They actually removed the only cancer cells present during the colonoscopy, but I lost about 10" of bowel anyway. Had to remove what was described as a ‘veritable garden’. And now my children will curse me every five years until they’re 80.
Take your time healing, over-exertion isn’t fun, either.
Get the scope, guys and gals, failure could shorten your life. And colectomies are no fun, either, as Stonoman and I can attest …
