Currently looking at a new (to me) bote and have a few questions. Bote 1 is a 18’ Sea Pro with a 1989 Suzuki 140 2 stroke and bote 2 is a 89 WellCraft with a 2003 4 stroke Yamaha. I have heard mixed reviews on the Suzuki. What are you guys opinions on the low hour Suzuki?

that’s a no brainer. go with the yamaha that’s 14 years newer. i don’t know much about the suzuki 2 strokes, but i heard they have some corrosion issues.
if its freshwater motor, the suzuki is an AWESOME motor, but if its an option, why not get the yamaha

Obviously I would prefer the Yamaha on the Sea Pro. The WellCraft boat is not my first choice in a hull. But the motor makes a compelling argument for the WellCraft.

buy 'em both. mix and match, then sell the “unwanted” combo.
4 stroke motor is no brainer, 89 model motor has got to be on its last legs

Please forgive my dyslexia. Both botes are 1998 models. And the 2 smoke Suzuki is a 1998. NOT, I repeat NOT, 1989.
