Fished yesterday with Whalure to try to find the yellowfin, wahoo and sails. We left IOP Marina at 3:45 and headed towards the SW Banks. We put lines in at 6:30 and trolled toward the GT Hole. Just North of the Banks, the WTFB screamed off and we were sure that we had a wahoo. We got the fish to the boat and it was a nice 20# king. We put lines back in and within 10 minutes had another hard strike. It ended up being large cuda. We gladly gaffed and released this one! We made it up to the Hole and trolled with another 10 or so boats, but had no luck. After a few hours, we decided to trolled back toward the SW Banks. Shortly after we reached the Banks, the long rigger took off and we new we had something good! Whalure got the fish to the boat while complaining about his tennis elbow![:I] It was a 30# Yellowfin. The fish was caught in 170’ with water temp at 85.5. We pulled lines around 1:30 and headed back in! The day was a little slow, but it felt good to be back on the water!
Glad y’all got some red meat (YFT). That’s always a day maker for me.

Good to see there are Yellowfin out there, tough working with two people too. Whalure needs to watch that “Tennis Elbow” I’ve heard its from something else. I think he’s right handed too. I think its palmhairy disease. HA!, maybe I can get out with you guys as things have died down a bit with the latest arrival. Definately should be able to get in on the Sailfish bite.
Wanna,
I agree with your assessment of the tennis elbow!! Would love to get together and go offshore sometime soon. Hopefully, the water will cool down a bit over the next month or so. Let me know when you are free to go as I am always ready!

I’m not calling Whalure out or anything, I’ve got the same problem, I just don’t blame it on tennis… I usually refer to it as an old softball injury… HAHA!!!
