Ran out to with five friends, despite the weather. Left the SI boat ramp around 4:30 but didn’t get lines in until around 10:30. Spent some time dodging water spouts and t-storms. Once spread was out, first hoo was on in 3-4 minutes. The next few hours we caught 4 more hoos, 4 kings, a small shark and ended the day with all four lines going off at once. Ended up putting the boats first Tuna in the cooler. A few minutes later, the second tuna was in the cooler. It ended as fast as it started.
Would like to thank Brian, Lance, Daniel, Richard, and Erik for a coming down from the Charlotte area and for a great day on the water. You guys are welcome back anytime
On the first pass through the frenzy, all four lines hit at once, they hit 2 blue/white Islanders, One Pink/White squitch and a Purple/Black squitch. On the second pass, hits were on the Pink/White and and Blue/White Islander. We were in about 135’ with 84 degree water.
The 6 hour trip was weather related, not boat. There were several waterspouts right around us and we just took our time to make sure boat and crew were safe. I also improperly stated we were at the GT Hole. We were actually at the SW Banks. We planned to to to the GT Hole but weather diverted us. Sorry for the misinformation.
