Swine heard it through the thick vine...

Got the itch to go slip into a new spot scouted last week with the bow with plenty of deer and hog sign this afternoon. Got to the spot at 5:35 and began to get my gear and chair situated and the 8 hog heathens started to come into my setup before I was even situated. Knocked an arrow ASAP and got the shakes as I caught sight of a big 200 plus pound sal heavy stepping in my direction and I started looking for a tree to climb, but she stopped at 20 yards and started rooting around. I drew back on the lead boar that I had feared may catch my wind and when I let the arrow fly the sweet defeat of a ricochet unfolded before my eyes. Saved by the vine, 5 feet before impact the broad head felt realtree was its calling and into the treetops it flew. So after that swing and a miss I proceed to continue getting set up. 5 minutes later a piglet comes back through at 15 yards but again caught me off guard. I let it walk since it would not stop moving. WMA - Wiff Misses Accepted

No bacon but sounds like a great hunt. Bet you’ll be going back to that spot asap!
