How many lines would you normally use and what kind of depth would you set them? I hear around full moon the bite is a little better???

thanks sellfish for comment , i hear swords come up in shallow water at night and stay on bottom doing the day
We drift in 1600 to 1800 ft and most bites have come on the lines at 300 or less for us during the night.
Actually had 1 that carried the bait and glow stic all the way to the boat never really was hooked…
2 lines maybe 3 if conditions would allow it.
gut wrench can you explain how you get bait 300 ft down on with weight thanks
You let out 300 ft of line then tie a balloon or float we use a balloon with a glow stic in it,then you left the balloon drift away from the boat how ever far you want.
We use bricks for weights tired on with 20 lb test so they break away upon hook up.
thanks
I agree 1500-2000 feet. We always try to put 3-4 baits in the water. The deeper the better: 500–600+ feet, second bait at 300 feet, third bait 50-150 feet, last bait on the surface with a balloon. You can’t over light your baits - use lots of light. A wide outrigger spread also helps tremendously. My best night was 6 releases: pups to 150 pounds! Lots of big sharks too - fun to pop 400# leader on!
Good luck!

Anyone care to share what a swordfish rig would consist of (from mainline to hook)?
