My t-top is the original from 1995. Corrison is too far advanced for any polish or wax to really make any difference. A new top is not in the cards for now, was considering removing the top, doing an acid wash to etch it good, then coating with a two part epoxy like Imron or Interlux Perfection. I have also considered getting it powder coated. Anyone have any other ideas? It is in great shape outside of the surface corrison. Not sure how a coated top will look since all my other hardware is either stainless or chrome on bronze.
Do it.

With all of the powdercoating colors they have today, you can get it done in any color of the rainbow, plus some. I’ve seen some that are so close, you would swear it was aluminum. I think there is a chrome color out now too. Not sure of the cost though.

I would have it sprayed with a Imron or similar product before powdercoating. If you get any corrosion under the powder coat it will start to lift the coating and can not be repair easily. Many builders have moved away from powdercoat because of the corrosion issues.

Guess I will see if I can find some Imron or Perfection in silver. Powercoating might be risky. Are these products easy to spray? Would like to do it myself if possible. Have expereince with rolling and tipping 2-part epoxy, just no expereince with spraying.
