We have a '79 Fisher Marine 16 foot jon boat. We want to build a top for shade. I have seen the top on one of the Swamp People’s boat on the history channel. That is what I am thinking of. Does anybody know of a kit or plans for such a thing?
i like the shade they have on that boat too. but their boat is 21’+. i have a feeling it would not work as well on a 16 footer. i could be wrong, but i’d just go with a bimini.

Bimini top for sure. You’ll want to be able to remove it at times and it only takes a few seconds to get a bimini top on and off the boat. The big top would get in the way fishing under docks and gigging and whatnot.
