T-top Question needing experienced advice

I recently acquired an older top for my boat. Of course since it did not come off my boat originally it does not fit properly but i expected this. After getting it home i found a stress crack and welded up but after fixing it and cleaning it up i noticed how bad of shape the legs are in from corrosion and other welds. Now i am contemplating either selling it (which i got it cheap so i do not think this would be a problem) or should i literally cut the legs off the top and get new legs made to fit my boat? the top is also starting to pit but i think with some time and sand paper i can clean it up. Is it worth me getting legs made i dont think it will need any bends? any idea on cost? or should i go ahead and resell it and wait till i can afford to have one made which could be awhile

It depends on how little you paid for it and how much you are willing to spend for the re-fit. Without seeing what would be involved, I’d guess it could probably cost at least $500 and go up from there. But I’m just guessing. If the top is pitted, you could probably do some sanding to clean it up, but you will have to paint it to keep it from oxidizing again.
