I looking at another boat and it is powered by a 2005 115 Optimax and the Tach is not working. Motor runs great and has been well maintained. Any ideas? Also the motor is still under warrenty, would this be covered?

Typically when you buy a boat the product warranty on items such as a tach are only one year; You should inquire about the transfer of the boat warranty. They may require you to have the boat inspected and most of the time they will reduce the warranty on the hull.
