So the question would be,----what kind of tackle would have been appropriate for this 8 pointer in the Stono last fall?

OK he got away. Got a 3rd shot to prove it but this was shot numb. 2 of 3. No fish to speak of this day, (my fault), but these views are to be remembered.

Sorry, I did the same shot twice and cannot figure out how to quickly delete. Suffice it to say that this is shot 2 of 3, and he got away happily. He must have had a date with a doe on the John’s Island side of the Stono, and he was in a big hurry! I did get one last one though hoofin’ it across the flats to the tree-line.
