since this is “cooking your catch” i will report that last night my girlfriend and i had tacos of fried dolphin, sauteed shrimp, and tuna fish.
all 3 were so outstanding i couldnt imagine picking one over the other. plus, the tuna taco had about 3 times more tuna in it than another popular eatery on sullivans island which also has popular fish tacos. i’ll pass on mentioning the name of the other popular SI eatery
Taco Boy has the best nachos in town. Kaysadillas too. I heard they they were opening one downtown a while back but haven’t heard or seen anything since.
I agree Hop, but did they match the outstanding sauce on the fish tacos of said eatery on SI?
ps. Said eatery also has a better view and I don’t mean the ocean.
interesting about the sauce. i do love their sauce, but usually ask for it on the side and dont use it on every bite. what i like about TB was hat i had a good seafood flavor in every bite.
scenery was pretty tough in TB. i was impressed with the numbers and appearance of how many cow dolphin where schooled up in TB. a number of them seemed to be “lit up” too
Second the taco boy but kinda pricey compared to my all time fave mex, La Hacienda, the best part bout taco boy is lunch during the summer eatin skrimp tacos with guac on em and a frozen screwdriver
its been a long time since i’ve been to LaHa. i recall it as being an old style tex-mex place. 173 different dishes, all comprised in some fashion of the same 6 ingredients. everything either had beans, rice, or ground beef in it
You can still get those same 173 dishes and they are still fire. I dont know where they get thier seafood from but I love thier shrimp and crab quesadillas and my all time favorite laha dish is camarones del diablo, the devils shrimp.

Compared to some other places in the N area where fish and other various tacos are served...authetic style, by authentic brownskins.
Are we not sharing our fish taco haven? I say let’s send em some business… keep em going strong.
My problem with Taco Boy is that they don’t (at least they didn’t) give complimentary chips & salsa. What kind of Mexican(ish) restaurant doesn’t do that?
Another Mexican place you should check out is Santi’s downtown. Not your typical Mexican food and a very good on-the-rocks margarita.

i feel just the opposite. we were glad they didnt bring them, that way we didnt eat everyone of them.
you probably don’t understand that concept yet, but once you reach a certain advanced station in life, you will understand completely…
