Grew 3/4" in 6 weeks? Did I read that right? Thatâs a faster growth rate than Iâd expect, esp this time of year. Then again Iâm a far cry from a marine biologist, so pretty much anything is news to me.
Saying âI am offendedâ is telling everyone else that you cannot control your own emotions, and thus you need everyone else to do it for you.
Caught a tagged fish yesterday with a yellow rec dart tag.
Looked through my records and it was one of my tags
Thought that was pretty cool.
Caught in same area. At large for 6 wks, grew 0.75"
</font id=âquoteâ></blockquote id=âquoteâ>Yes. Cool. That is pretty standard according to the guys that study this stuff, right? If you want to dispute MY response, could you please provide some data from the guys that recorded the data?
The growth amt is accurate. I know because I measured it both times. My tagged fish are measured to < 1/4" with pinched tails. There is often discrepancies when others measure a tagged fish because they donât measure accurately or more often donât pinch the tail. Or have a good measuring device. Reds grow remarkably fast from what Iâve seen. That being said: Iâve caught and measured a tagged red only to get the report and discover it shrank (for reasons stated above)
winter site fidelity is obviously pretty strong, as any good redfish baron knows⌠Iâve caught one tagged fish this year (orange DNR research tag)- it was at large for 2 years and 1 day, grew from 16.25" to 30.25" and was in the same exact spot! this should be the year that he/she recruits to the adult population and no longer hangs out with the kids.
I like the one where the guy catches the same sword fish a few years later with his wedding band on the upper sword! What goes around comes around, ah the memories of marriage!
