Fished last evening from 6-8pm, pretty high outgoing tide. Took a while to put some bait together, but caught some shrimp and menhaden and moved to a spot. Apparently there was a school of small trout waiting there for me cause first cast landed a short, then again, and again? fed them all of my shrimp, no keepers. I was in my jon boat that I haven’t used for a while and this (at least) 4ft+ shark comes up a few feet from me and starts cruising and going haywire in the shell bank. I grab a menhaden and toss it right in front of him. Bump, bump, tug, fish on. I was convinced it was the shark that I had just seen, being at the exact spot, but it turned out to be this 24.5" tagged red. In a dramatic change of events I ended up falling off the bow of the boat into about a foot of water on my back and still landed the fish, a first for me. Notice the soaking wet clothes. New flats blue pliers to match my rod too.
