Happy Easter everyone -
I was fishing today on Seabrook Island and caught a tagged redfish. The tag was yellow and had the letters CR followed by a four digit number. The tag also said something about a reward. I figured it was a SCDNR program, so I recorded the tag number, measured the fish, and released it with the tag attached.
Now that I am looking for where to submit the info, I can’t seem to find anything that makes sense. The SCDNR has a tagged fish program, but the letters on those tags don’t start with CR and they have more digits. Now I’m thinking that it might be from out of state, or from some other program. I’d like to be able to submit the data to whoever is conducting the research. Maybe I missed something on the other side of the tag. I was trying to release the fish as quickly as possible. Im such a dope.
Any ideas?
Contact Robert Wiggers at Dnr.sc.gov. It’s a sc recreational tag and comes with a reward. Tshirt or hat. Congrats!

What was the 4 digit number ? I tag a lot of fish in that area.
You can call 888 824 7472 and report the tag as well.
Thanks for the information. I saw this on the DNR website but my letters were different and the number was only four digits so I thought I had something wrong:

I sent an email with the tag info to Robert and it is one of his. Thanks for the help guys.
