I walked the flats Wednesday through Saturday afternoon/evenings and then again on Sunday morning.
Wednesday, tailers were abundant. Thursday, more cruisers than tailers. Friday, lots of cruisers, one or two tailing fish Saturday, I think were only cruisers, but who’s counting at this point? Water was deep and I saw maybe three fish swirl, but nothing good enough that I could throw at. Sunday AM, not one tailer. Water level was almost perfect, maybe three or four inches lower than I would have preferred, but still enough water that if the reds weren’t stuffed, they would have been all over the flat.
Looking forward to the tides calming down and getting a couple of gigging trips in later this week if possible.
Friday night, Tee and I went out for a couple of hours right up until dark. Only saw two good happy tailers, many others were cruising and eating, but they were tough to see with all the water on the flat. I think it was a 6.7 where we were. I managed one on a DOA shrimp. Tee had a couple of shots but they were finicky and I imagine stuffed full of crabs by that point.
Great time with a great friend. We need to make this more of a routine rather than a once a year trip.
I wouldn’t call that a problem. That is living a dream my friend. Wish I could fish that much. Maybe one day when I retire, which will be in around 30 years.
5 days fishing in a row. Doesn’t sound like a problem to me. The only time I get to fish 5 days in a row is once or twice a year when on vacation. As usual, nice pics.

Some good high water fishing there, was fishing around Edisto. Myself and it was a 7.2 high, have not seen it that high for a while. Nice fish by the way, cool pics.
Wicked fishing
