Its probably a combination of pressure and tidal variations.
i am going to try it in the morning. tide is week, but i do have some wind in my favor.
I will let you know how it goes.
chris.
I had one nice shot this morning. He chased but no take. The red settled back about 30 feet behing where he was tailing, wiated a couple of minutes and then bolted off the flat.
It was amazing that one fish was tailing very hard, doing back flips,
and no other fish to be seen.
May try to walk one tonight.
chris.
Gonna get after it here in an hour and a half or so…should be decent even though its at the end of the cycle.
Keep casting.
Fish seemed to be very off. Where I had seen 25-30 fish last cycle we only saw 2 or 3 and they were barely tailing. Did come across one cooperative fish at the last flat yet got the camera out too early and pulled the hook. He was grown too.
Lots fo fiddlers but only 2 quick tails and a follow that vanished after he swirled on the fly. Oh well, it was still a great time to be out on the flat.

Landed two this cycle. Broke off a big fish and lost my fly box. Got some tying to do before next cycle. Hopefully they will be back to normal by then.

There’s a real nice looking flat near the old Cooper River Marina that I have been keeping an eye on. Have yet to see any tailing, but tons of fiddlers in the area. Seems an easy walk-in after you clear the FLETC gate. Anyone fished that area with any success?

I would expect that they will now. may want to keep your walk-in spots under your hat.
Ya gotta get past FLETC first. And that ain’t easy.

Besides, I don’t mind sharing spots with anyone. With few exceptions, just about every fly fisherman practices catch and release, keeping only 1 or 2 for dinner. And are very, VERY ethical fishermen.

It’s not keeping rather than releasing fish that will ruin a spot - it’s too much pressure. While there are a relatively small group of us that post here regularly, there are probably 10x that amount that read without posting. Just keep that in mind when you post specific locations from now on.
I’m all for sharing spots, but share them with individuals, not everyone who has access to the www.
I’d bet more than 10x…
10-04! Thanks for the advice. I’ll keep that in mind for future posts.
