Tailing Reds In The Grass

I have a pair I wear when my wife is not looking.

Only a pair, which two finger do you wear them on? I reall have no idea but aren’t those usually sold as a set of 10 (one for each finger and thumb). WHat happened to your other 8?

Thats why they call it fishing, not catching

The pair are for the ears. If I get time I am tying some for the nips tonight!! Would you like you like a pair markbob?

Hook me up buddy!

I was downtown today with the wife and ventured into Baystree Outfitters to pass the time. They do have an assortment of Dupre’s for $7/pp for those interested.

Epoxy flies IMO are very durable…It depends on what brand epoxy your using. I prefer Zpoxy its a 5 min set time. It hardens nicely and stays clear. Some of the cheaper epoxy will look nice @ first but after it has cured it will have a yellow tint to it. Z poxy is made buy the same ppl as ZAP A GAP…Its pretty tough stuff. I saw my first dupree spoon the other day…Chris @ CA had one. It looked nice. Anyone know what the material is for the spoon…It didnt look like lure tape to me

TiteLoops. I caught one on a copper scott’s last week and then hooked another who managed to make off with the fly before I could remove it. I went into West Ashley Hadrell’s yesterday and all they had were the silver and gold versions. Do you know where you can order these things? Gold one might work but that pink tail is rather loud. I haven’t used any bright flourescent colors around here.

I a researched the Dupre spoon and now decided that everything is cut from a mold and the epoxy process is done in a mold…they are too perfect!
I made my first 2 spoon flies last night and they are OK but aren’t a Dupre! I believe I will put my tying efforets into other patterns and buy the real thing. Even at $7 if I catch 6-10 fish on it its been worth it!

Calibogue. Check your mail.

back atcha!

Better have them overnight shipped b/c this weekend is going to be the biggest in a while.:smiley:I’m debating going on the 5.8 on Friday anybody else thinking about going?

If a man wakes up early to go fishing he 's sleep deprived, If a man wakes up late to go fishing he’s fish deprived

Tblue- I picked some up at an Orvis Shop in NC. Shoot me your address and I will pick some up and ship to you. I think they were around $4 a pop. I like this fly alot in the grass! I don’t fish the pink tail either. I use the copper spoon with the dark tail.

I agree. I think these fish like sparkle but not hot flourescent colors although I have never tried them so I can’t say with certainty. Thanks for the offer. You have mail.
