This will be my first full tailing season. First couple were last August and sept. saw at least 6 different fish tailing. First one I let my father in law pitch a number of casts by with spinning rod with no takes. He got close in higher grass so I took over. First cast and I got to watch a 30" close to 10lb red eat my fly hook set and take off. Saw more and he finally got one to eat And line broke. They definitely preferred the fly today.
They prefer the fly every day!
(a little bit late) Last Thursday (5/230 me and a buddy got on a flat right after school for got the buggy whip at the house so had to use one of his spinning reels we just poled around in his kayak and saw two tailers not 6 feet from each other had one eat but he spit the hook, then saw a nice 27+ inch red fish right near us but spooked him when i cast.
