Talon or PowerPole?

I am thinking about either one. Is there much of a difference and who do you recommend buying from and installing especially in Beaufort area? Thanks

PS…Tell me it doesn’t take two to tango, because my budget is not ready for that!

I own a Power Pole. When deployed the P Pole is out of the way ( below the transom) as opposed to the Talon still being (housing) above transom and in the way. They are both in the way, when not deployed. The early Talons apparently had a few bugs…maybe worked out by now. In either case, with only one deployed, the bow is down current just like if yiu anchored at the transom. Wind can cause the boat to spin.

Some people use a stick-it in conjunction. Two stick-its sure are a lot cheaper.

If the PP or Talon ever malfunctions in the deployed position, you need to know how to resolve. The only way I know is disconnect the hydraulic lines.

I like mine and I’ve not had any problems.

Powerpole all the way! Butler Marine in Beaufort sells and installs them.

Thanks for the info…only bad problem…we didn’t think of these things FIRST!
