Tampa/St. Pete Charters

I am going to be in Tampa/St. Pete, FL Feb. 6-11 and was looking to get a charter and target Snook. Any chance anyone has experience with any charters down there that they would recommend?

I have a buddy down that way that does reel repairs for a lot of guides. I’d be happy to ask him for some recommendations if you’d like.

We went out w/ Capt Mark Maloney / Barracudaville Charters (http://captainmaloney.com) last July. He was awesome! Weather conditions were rough but he made sure we caught all we could. I do recall him mentioning that snook were his favorite species to target.

Thanks! Did yall catch any Snook on your trip? What time of year was it? This will be the first time I’ve ever fished for Snook, and from what I’ve read, they like to hang in the shallows this time of year.

We went offshore for grouper & snapper so no snook. Not sure about the snook bite this time of year but I’m sure Captain Mark would let ya know. He was really helpful on the phone when planning our trip.
