want to thank everyone for their recent suggestions on our gas tank getting fixed or replaced…esp Capt Ed(who offered to look at it even if it isnt something he usually works on ) and Wstrickland who offered to look at it and maybe make a new one if it couldnt be fixed or replaced.
We dropped it off to a guy on tuesday that a friend told us about , (and actually it turns out we knew him ) and picked it up today…3 inchs removed from the end and new end put on…Guy said inside looked fine, but he did clean and put a patch on a couple other areas he thought might need it. said its good now…so will put back in the boat tommorow. Cost. 80.00…lot better than the 380.00 or more that I priced them for on line. Would have definately bit the bullet and gotten replacement if this one wasnt able to be fixed though.

Ed…thanks again for looking at it for us and then for offering to give making a new tank a whirl if need be,and wstrickland for offering ed use of your larger press and cutter…

I’m glad you got it repaired without it costing too much. I got a quote back fron a tank maker in Jupiter FL…they wanted $670.00 with shipping…[:0][:0]

ED…used my gig again last night…man that thing is awesome…and the extra prong is great as you said for the tougher fish like sheep and drum…’…might have to get donnie one…but just to push with

ended up with 8 about that size…saw a lot of little ones and kept pushing on by them…talked to a guy who got 26 last further down…wonder if he was as selective in size??
