Targeting Flounder?

I’ve caught a few flounder by accident, but have never targeted them…until now. So, knowing very little about them, I’m looking for suggestions…and the floor is open for anyone who wants to share some wisdom with me. Thanks.

I like rocks, docks, and oysters. Throw in some good moving water with an eddy created by the structure mentioned before and you will find flounder.

Try the drag technique, instead of doing the dead stick pop and drop or slow working a paddle tail or grub, try a pop and drag or a swim then drag style. I have actually just left my rod perpendicular to my body and slowly twisted my body to drag the lure( live shrimp, curly tail, Trout trick or paddle tail) across the bottom. It’s worked more then just a steady retrieval on more than a few occasions so that’s how I like to attempt for the flattys! Lots of people use the beetle spin blades added to the rig for some extra flash so don’t be afraid to try those too. Good luck!

In general, they tend to like the color white as far as lure body colors, in my experience
Like stump said they do like flash, i’ve caught them on spinners.
Try casting under a dock and dragging right along both sides of all the piers at the bottom

Thanks, Matt and Dave. I hope to have some photos soon. It’ll be week after next before I can get after 'em.
