F and G, I am a dealer in town and we sell both (Time OUt Sport and Ski). As far as a pure PADDLING kayak, I like the Tarpon series. However, Hobie’s pedal drive system is AWESOME! The ability to move around hands free is perfect for a fishing kayak. Price wise, the Hobie ends up being about $250 more than the Tarpon by the time you add a rudder, angler kit, and paddle (which are all standard with the Hobie). If you heve not paddled these boats (or pedaled) get in touch with us here at the store (388-6266) and we can set up a demo for you. I am doing a demo on the Tarpon 160, 140 and Hobie Adventure tommorrow (Wednesday, July 19) at 11 am. If you can make it, come on over and try them out!

I have a Tarpon 160I and love it, you give up just a touch of stability but gain alot of speed, I even take my 5 yr old son out with me . We do push the weight limits a tad on the 160i though.
DolphinD,
I am the guy you are doing the demo with. I will see you tomorrow.
