Anyone have much experience Tarpon fishing around Edisto beach. I know some guys have said they’ve caught them in St. Helena sound. Going down at the end of July and want to try to soak some big baits for them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think the general consensus for targeting Tarpon at Edisto Island is to put in at Steamboat and fish the North Edisto inlet. You want to be setup at the peak of the incoming tide. I have never fished the North Edisto, but I believe you want to setup on the ocean side of the bird island/sandbar.

I fish the N. Edisto area pretty often, but have never targeted tarpon.
I have seen them rolling out near Deveaux Bank (the sandbar you mentioned) and even behind Botany Bay Island.
